Greek-Style Green Beans

1/2 cup chopped onion

4 cloves garlic, minced

3/4 tsp. each: dried oregano and basil leaves

1 Tbsp. olive oil

1 can (28 oz) reduced-sodium tomatoes, undrained, coarsely chopped

1 lb. green beans

Salt and pepper, to taste

1. Saute onion, garlic, and herbs in oil in large skillet until onion is tender, 3-4 minutes. Add tomatoes with liquid and green beans and heat to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, covered, until beans are very tender, about 30 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Serves 4-6
